Volunteer with the Jackson Hole Snow Devils
Join over 400 volunteers who turn four days of racing into a legacy of teamwork, laughter, and giving back to Jackson Hole.
Every spring, hundreds of helping hands come together to build one of the most thrilling and community-driven events in the Rocky Mountains — the World Championship Snowmobile Hill Climb.
The Heart of the Hill Climb
For nearly fifty years, the Snow Devils’ greatest strength has been its people — the ones who show up before dawn to set up course fencing, greet fans with a smile, and keep everything running safely and smoothly.

Media Support
If you’ve ever wanted a front-row seat to the most intense snowmobile racing in the world, this is it. The Hill Help crew works directly on the mountain—setting gates, clearing lines, flagging sections, and helping sleds and riders off the course when the climb gets wild.
What to Expect
It’s a physical, fast-paced role that keeps you right at the heart of the event. You’ll work alongside seasoned volunteers and RMSHA officials to maintain a safe, efficient course throughout each race day. Expect to be on your feet (and in the snow), moving with purpose and adrenaline as sleds rocket by within shouting distance.
Training and safety briefings are provided before the event. The Hill Help team embodies the spirit of the Snow Devils—strong, calm, and ready when the mountain calls.
From sunrise breakfasts for volunteers to warm lunches for racers and event staff, this crew keeps hundreds of people fed, hydrated, and smiling all weekend long.
What to Expect
Roles range from serving food and stocking the volunteer tent to coordinating with local partners and caterers. You might pour coffee at dawn, deliver meals to course crews, or greet hungry racers as they come in from the hill.
This is a great role for anyone who loves connecting with people and being part of the event’s social heartbeat. It’s busy, warm, and full of gratitude—because nothing tastes better than a hot meal after hours in the snow.
As part of the Gate Operations team, you’re the welcoming committee of the Hill Climb. You’ll scan tickets, hand out wristbands, answer questions, and help spectators find their way to the best viewing areas. You’re the first point of contact for thousands of fans, so your friendly face and clear communication set the tone for the whole experience.
What to Expect
The pace can be lively, especially during peak arrival hours, but you’ll always have support from your fellow volunteers and coordinators. This role is ideal for people who enjoy hospitality, crowd interaction, and a steady rhythm of high-energy moments.
When fans talk about how smooth and welcoming the event felt, it’s usually thanks to Gate Operations. You make the first impression—and it matters.
You’ll work closely with official photographers, videographers, and press outlets to ensure they have safe access to designated zones on the mountain. This role also includes distributing media credentials, escorting crews to restricted areas, and maintaining communication between the media tent and race control.
What to Expect
It’s a fantastic fit for anyone interested in communications, event production, or journalism—or simply for those who want a behind-the-scenes look at how the Hill Climb reaches the world.
You’ll see the race from angles few others ever do, and your work helps share the Snow Devils’ story far beyond Jackson Hole.
